Capital Development Authority (CDA) plays a vital role in the administration of the federal capital. If any project is constructed without their approval, they take strict action against the property stakeholders. Recently, the authority has sealed the offices of many illegal projects that have developed across zones 3 and 4 (mentioned below).

Islamabad Zone 1

Islamabad Zone 1 comprises 54,958.25 (222.4081 km2) acres of area. It starts from the Grand Trunk(GT) road route and ends at the intersections of Kashmir Highway and Nicolson Monuments.

Islamabad Zone 2

Zone 2, the smallest zone, covers almost 9,804.92 acres (39.6791 km2). It connects with zone 1 and partly with Rawalpindi. The zone comprises of territories confined to the north and northeast of the Grand Trunk (G.T) Road, to the north by the Kashmir Highway.
